Visa Information

Students applying for a course of 3 months or less can enter New Zealand on a Visitor Visa or a Working Holiday Visa (if eligible under the working holiday scheme). All students enrolling for a course of 3 months or more should apply for a Student Visa.

Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at www.immigration.govt.nz

Students enrolling for a Basic Course (20 lessons per week) are not eligible for a student visa.

Arriving in New Zealand - Customs Information

New Zealand has very strict Customs regulations to prevent drugs, diseases and pests being brought into the country. On the plane you will be given a Customs Declaration Form to complete. Declare any goods you are not sure about and any articles in excess of your Duty Free allowance. Making a false declaration is a serious offence and may result in heavy fines and the seizure of goods. Please note when packing for your trip that many food, wood, plant and animal products are prohibited imports. Visit www.biosecurity.govt.nz for further information. If you are unsure about anything then it is better to declare it.
